From May 18 to 21, 2025, Dubai Business Consulting (DBC) took part in an official delegation trip of German SMEs to the United Arab Emirates. The trip was organized in cooperation with the Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft (BVMW) and included several stops in Dubai and Abu Dhabi with the aim of intensifying economic cooperation with the United Arab Emirates. The management of DBC was there in person and took the opportunity to exchange ideas directly with decision-makers from business and politics.

The official program began on Monday, May 19, with an intensive business and networking day at the IFZA Business Park in Dubai Silicon Oasis. There, the delegates were welcomed by representatives of IFZA and BVMW. Presentations by the BVMW Representative Office in the UAE and a business briefing by the German-Emirati Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK UAE) provided professional impetus. Dr. Constantin Frank-Fahle (emltc) made an important contribution with a practical overview of tax law aspects in the Emirate.

The subsequent panel discussion on the topic of “Business in Dubai” provided exciting insights into local market dynamics. A guided tour of the IFZA Business Park rounded off the day, before the evening came to an end with dinner at the “Novecento” restaurant.

On Tuesday, the focus was on company visits. Among other things, the delegation was received at the headquarters of the Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism (DET), accompanied by an exchange with high-ranking representatives of the ministry. Particularly noteworthy was the personal reception by Mr. Nasser Alsuwaidi, who emphasized the importance of German-Emirati economic cooperation.

Another highlight was the visit to brisk logistics LLC, one of the leading pharmaceutical logistics companies in the region. As an option, participants were also given an insight into the world’s largest solar park, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, an impressive symbol of the UAE’s sustainable orientation.

The day ended in the Dubai desert: an adventure desert tour with dinner in the open air between the dunes allowed new contacts to be deepened and cultural impressions to be gathered in a unique atmosphere.

On Wednesday, the delegation traveled on to the capital Abu Dhabi. There, an exclusive meeting with the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, H.E. Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, was on the agenda. The talks underlined the mutual interest in a deeper partnership of equals. The subsequent lunch at the renowned Emirates Palace and the reception hosted by German Ambassador Alexander Schönfelder rounded off the trip.

In the evening, the participants returned to Dubai, where the delegation trip was officially concluded with a final meeting at the SIRO One Za’abeel Hotel.

The trip provided a valuable framework for direct dialog with regional economic players, government institutions and potential business partners. The personal presence of the DBC management underlined the strategic importance of this region for German SMEs. Dubai Business Consulting would like to thank all partners and organizers, especially the BVMW and IFZA, for the successful implementation of this forward-looking delegation trip.
